Welcome to Luke 418 Ministries, a 501(C) (3) nonprofit organization based in San Diego, California, committed to serving the most vulnerable communities in the African country of Rwanda and producing Women Rise, a woman’s conference that spans the globe. Inspired by the words of Luke 4:18, our mission is to bring hope and restoration to those in need. Through a variety of targeted programs, we aim to not only provide relief but to create lasting change by empowering individuals and communities to thrive.

The Rwanda Child Sponsorship Program

At the heart of Luke 418 Ministries is The Rwanda Child Sponsorship Program, which gives individuals the opportunity to make a direct impact on a child’s life. Sponsors take responsibility for supporting a child’s education, health, and personal development, helping them grow into empowered, educated leaders. This program not only transforms the lives of children but strengthens communities by fostering future generations of hope and leadership. Sponsors receive regular updates on the child’s progress, allowing them to see the meaningful change they are helping to create.

Freshwater Campaign

The Freshwater Campaign focuses on bringing clean water purification systems to rural communities across Rwanda. Access to clean water is life-changing, helping to prevent waterborne diseases like cholera, typhoid, and dysentery. Clean water improves health, increases school attendance, and enables families to focus on education and agriculture rather than collecting unsafe water. Through purified water access, entire communities are given the chance to grow healthier and more self-reliant.

The Goat Initiative

Our Goat Initiative is designed to provide the most vulnerable women in rural Rwanda with a goat, offering both nutrition and financial independence. Goats are a source of milk, improving the family’s diet with essential nutrients. Additionally, owning a goat offers economic opportunities women can sell surplus milk or offspring, generating income to support their families. This program promotes empowerment by equipping women with a sustainable resource, helping them break the cycle of poverty and build a more secure future.

What we believe

At Luke 418 Ministries, we believe that every act of service is a response to God’s command, a divine assignment rooted in compassion. As we follow the example set in Luke 4:18, we proclaim good news to the poor, bring healing to the brokenhearted, and set the oppressed free. Whether sponsoring a child, bringing clean water to a village, or empowering women through the gift of a goat, each work is done not for recognition, but in obedience to God. These are not just kind gestures. They are acts of faith, commanded by God and guided by His Word. With God as our compass and Luke 4:18 as our mission, we move forward to restore hope, strengthen families, and transform lives, one child, one family, one village at a time.
